Max

Angers, France

We met Maxime, or Max as he prefers, while window shopping around downtown Angers, France. He owns a boutique clothing store called “Mixape”. He was born in the South of France, but left his home recently to open his own store, and pursue his passion of recognizing and predicting new fashion trends. I was drawn to his store, in particular, because his shop was one of the few places in Angers that seemed to be extremely “American” in terms of the fashion sense. After talking for a bit, he told me that he has visited the U.S., but had only been to Tampa and Houston to visit friends. As someone that seemed so interested in American fashion trends, even he laughed at the fact that he’s never been to any fashion “hub” in the U.S. He hopes to visit The States soon and spend time in California. His shop was unique in that it also serves as a bar with outdoor after-hours seating. I assume this helps shops in smaller towns stay in business by multi-purposing their buildings. Anyhow, Max’s shop was a breath of fresh air among the H&M’s of the world.

Musically,
