Alessandro, or Alex as he prefers, is the owner of Alex Catania Bed & Breakfast located in Catania, Sicily. He welcomed us into his beautiful home for a two-night stay. On our first night, Alex invited us out to celebrate the Festivity of Saint Agatha, a celebrated Catania-born Christian saint and virgin martyress. It was a spectacular night to witness thousands of devotees, dressed in traditional white long tunics, pull the coffin containing her holy relics along the main streets of town.

By day, Alex works for the University in the administration office. He will be going back to school to study Foreign Language, concentrating on English and French. Alex is originally from Agrigento, Sicily, a costal town on the western part of the island, and moved to Catania 15 years ago as a result of a job offer. He is planning to open a second B&B in the very near future. He enjoys meeting new people and showing them around the great city he lives in.
