Franca has a heart of gold! She’s a Cassino, Italy native that has the sweetest smile and kindest personality. From the moment that we met, she had a unique way of making me laugh. Upon first introduction, she threw up her arms and made an exaggerated display of how tall she thought I was. After that, she pinched my cheeks and gestured us over towards the dinner table, because you could tell how important it was for her to make us feel welcomed and comfortable in her home. While we had a tough time understanding each other as a result of the language barrier, she always seemed excited to greet us each morning with an English “good-morning”, and a “thank you” at any opportunity around the dinner table. By the time we left Cassino, my cheeks had been pinched enough times to lose count, but it’s a price I’m willing to pay to have such fond memories with her!
