Barbara

Every so often, a moment happens while traveling that changes your entire perception of wherever you happen to be. In Venice, Italy we met Barbara who runs a local tapas and wine bar called Vino Vera. Words can’t even begin to describe how amazing the tapas that she creates are. Hands-down the best tapas I’ve ever had, and I would almost go as far as to say that her simple yet delicious homemade cuisine was my favorite meal of Italy thus far. Her restaurant, or “cafe”, is located in a quiet and local neighborhood of Venice, right beside the canal. It was a total chance discovery when we found her restaurant. We were simply walking down the street, and something in my gut told me that it would be worthwhile to stop in and check it out. Instantly, we knew that we were in for something special. We had never seen tapas so beautifully prepared. The bread was toasted to perfection on a panini press right before our eyes, and the flavor exploded from the simple, yet perfectly combined ingredients. Truth be told, we will be going back for round two tonight, before we actually stop for dinner. There’s no way we are experiencing this place just once! When in Venice, go to Vino Vera!

Musically,
