We met this wonderfully inspiring couple in Prague, traveling all the way from Chicago, IL. Both John and Leslie are well experienced travelers, and shared many wonderful stories of their globetrotting with us over a few drinks, and live Jazz music. John was previously in the automotive dealership business, and Leslie enjoyed a lucrative career in advertising sales. Currently, they are enjoying retirement and seeing as much of the world as possible! It was especially interesting to talk with them about two of their favorite places: Antartica and Kenya. Perhaps the most interesting conversation of the night didn’t revolve around their great stories full of chartering boats through ice-ridden water, or coming face-to-face with African wildlife on Walking Safari’s, but rather the simple life lessons that they were happy to share. They expressed the importance of living within your means, not spending money unnecessarily on “possessions” that you always end up getting rid of, and the importance in being proactive in saving for your future (all the while enjoying your life). We’ve decided that we should probably listen to their advice, because they are reaping the benefits through real-life experiences, and have no intention of slowing down!
