Nopporn is from Chiang Mai, Thailand, the northern region of the country. He moved to Bangkok for better job opportunities and has found himself driving taxi cabs for “too long,” he says. Translation: 10 years. With the amount of traffic and congestion on Bangkok’s streets, I could imagine what a toll it takes on a guy like Nopporn. He is one of the many Thai men and women who grin and bare the daily grind to provide what little they make for their families. During our trek of weaving in and out of chaotic traffic, we learned that Nopporn is not a fan of the famed “Thai Boxing”. He doesn’t like the violence. In the “Land of Smiles”, I suppose a blood-soaked sport seems a bit out of place to some!
