Nancy and Franco

Cassino, Italy

I don’t know what we keep doing to continue to keep meeting such amazingly kind and generous people, but Nancy and Franco absolutely humbled us with their hospitality and kindness when we met them. We stayed in their home for a long weekend in Cassino, Italy (a town located 1.5 hours south of Rome). It was as if we’d known them for our entire lives. Nancy is a security guard at one of the town’s most important archeological museums, and Franco is a retired school teacher. I am still perplexed as to where Nancy gets all of her energy. Seriously, her work schedule rotates all the time and she often works nights, and then immedietely comes home in the morning and has an amazing lunch on the table for her family everyday. It was almost comical how I would see her in the morning and be having a conversation with her in the living room, and then 10 minutes later she would bring out an entire four-course meal for everyone as if it was no big deal! She is an amazing cook! FYI, she cooks pasta every single day. Franco and Nancy live in the same house that has been in Franco’s family for generations. Every afternoon, Franco would walk their beautiful property, and pick everyone fresh fruit from their trees for dessert later in the day. They had the most delicious figs, and trees that provided a hybrid fruit tasting of apples and pears. We can’t thank them enough for all of their hospitality, and we are forever grateful for the experience that they shared with us in Cassino!

Musically,
